One of my guitars in St. Louis survived last winter but now has some issues on the high E in the lower 5 frets. Can anyone recommend a good luthier in St. Louis that can look at it and fix it so my customer doesn’t have to send it back to me? Thanks.

Joe Mendel of Mendel Fretted Instruments may be an option. He is located in Chesterfield area. If he’s booked he can refer you to someone. Google for contact info. Hope this helps.

THere are a lot of repair guys and shops, but not many I would send a friend to. Eddie's guitars uses some top shelf repair guys but their a long ways away from me, so I dont catalog them in memory. You might call Eddies Guitars in Saint Louis and ask who they use.

Mendel has had formal training, and been in the business for over 20 years. Even though I could have done it, I paid him to refret my 1970 J-45.

That’s why I asked here. I have sent the info on to my customer. I hope it’s just a raised fret, but on thinking, I realized he’s had it long enough that it could be worn frets though I wouldn’t have expected that with stainless steel. It’s the only guitar I made with ss frets. I didn’t like the feel or sound but the buyer did.
